Alex James Perrone

August 22, 1982 - April 5, 2019

Alex James Perrone, age 36, of Johnstown, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at his residence. He was born on August 22, 1982, in Gloversville, a son of Debra Perrone-Skinner and William Frazier. He was kind, compassionate, loving, funny, and a bit eccentric. His wonderful smile made everyone smile back and his amazing sense of humor will be missed. Alex was an intelligent man with a passion for learning. He had many interests, including: music, history, religion, politics, computers, holistic medicine, and astronomy. He was quite knowledgeable in these areas and could talk for hours about them. If you had a question about anything, Alex could answer it. He astounded us with how much he knew and, even though he would talk your ear off, any one of us would give anything to listen to one more of his “lectures”. Alex graduated from the College of Saint Rose with a Bachelor's in Psychology and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He was employed at Vince’s Pizzeria in Johnstown. One of his interests that he was very passionate about was music. He played guitar and sang in several bands, including: Madeline’s Demon, One Penny Shy, Dewpoint Blank, and Saving Atlantis. In addition to his mother and father, Alex is survived by one sister Leilani Perrone-Skinner, his Aunt Karen Dixon of Johnstown and cousins Amy Ambrosino and Michael Ambrosino, his Uncle Robert Perrone of Virginia Beach and cousins Jesse Perrone and Christopher Perrone, and his companion Megan Brown. He has many friends far and wide who will miss him. There was no one quite like Alex. If you were a friend he always had your back. He always said, “All I ever want is for everyone to be happy.” There will be no calling hours or funeral services but a Celebration of Life will be held on May 25th. Time and place to be announced. For more information, please, contact his mother or sister via Facebook. Thank you all for the outpouring of support, love, and kindness during this difficult time. Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady. Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
