Bradley R. Hayner

Bradley R. Hayner, age 85, of Johnstown passed away peacefully at Mountain Valley Hospice Tuesday April 6, 2021. Born on March 2, 1936 in Caroga Lake, NY he was the son of the late James H. Hayner and Annajean B. (Rockenstyre) Hayner. Bradley served two years in the United States Navy, and then returned home to begin his career at General Electric. After leaving General Electric he was employed with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Hayner’s Construction, drove tractor trailers, and worked in various leather mills. He was a hard working man, and held various part time jobs until he could no longer work. He had a strong love for The Kansas City Chiefs! Bradley and Claudia owned and rode motorcycles for many years with friends and family. In the 70s Bradley owned race horses named Perfect Strike and Willeyo that won many races at Saratoga Race Course. Bradley and his wife Claudia were very good line dancers and loved showcasing their moves at the local Moose Clubs. Bradley was a very kind and sweet man. His smile was infectious and he will forever be missed. Along with his parents, Brad was predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Claudia; brother, Harry Hayner; sister, Pearl (Hayner) Baker; infant grandson, Brandon Hayner; grandson-in-law, Anthony Zajakowski Sr. He is survived by his 4 legged companion Troy; brother, Gerald Hayner (Linda); sister-in-law, Cora Hayner; his 3 loving children, Colleen McGivern, Gregory Hayner, and Allyson Hayner; five grandchildren, Dana Dimaio-Zajakowski, Nicole Dimaio, Bradley Hayner (Jessica), Megan Valik (Kevin), Matthew Hayner; eight great grandchildren, Anthony, Aubree, Avery, Laila, Anna, Eleanor, Cole and Abigail; as well as countless nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
