Devon Atwood, age 48, of Gloversville, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Amsterdam, with his loving family by his side after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. Born on December 19, 1973, in Albany, NY, he was the son to Catherine Atwood and Kent Jackson. Devon was employed at Fulton County Glass in Gloversville, NY. He was a little league coach to many children in the Johnstown community over the years. Devon loved to coach football, basketball, and baseball. He was a coach to some and leader to all, on and off the court and field. In his spare time, he also enjoyed wood working and repairing small engines. Devon loved to spend time with his family, and he especially enjoyed music, playing pool, and karaoke nights. He is survived by the love of his life, Staci Carver-Tomlinson; wife and longtime friend, Georgeann Atwood; father, Kent Jackson; children, Jordan Beekman (Tabitha), Torrey Beekman (Arianna), Preston Atwood, Angelina Atwood; sisters, Fran Choat, Bertha “Bertie” Nunez (Carlos); 8 grandchildren, Andy, Aubriee, Audriee, Raiden, Aria, Liam, Nash; extended family, Lanie (Jordan) Russell, Cidnie Lais, Carver Walsh; beloved dog, Buddy; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Devon is predeceased by his beloved mother, Catherine Atwood and precious granddaughter, Avery Lynn Beekman. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling or funeral services. A celebration of life will be held on February 12, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Johnstown Moose, 109 S Comrie Ave, Johnstown, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Devon’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, 375 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, 08034.
