Douglas Yerdon Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Douglas A. Yerdon, age 69, of Johnstown, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife by his side. Born on September 5, 1952, in Troy, NY he was the son of the late Norman Sr. and Marjorie (Abrams) Yerdon. Douglas grew up in Poestenkill and was a 1972 graduate of Averill Park High School. He loved spending his time camping, traveling, riding his motorcycle, and playing with his beloved corgis. He was an avid history buff, a Civil War reenactor, and was planning to attend the annual battle at Gettysburg in 2022. He is survived by his wife, Leigh (Witzke) Yerdon; sons, Kevin D. Yerdon (Rebecca), Shawn M. Yerdon, and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Douglas is predeceased his brother, Norman N. Yerdon Jr. and his sister, Barbara (Yerdon) Schakett. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 4:00 PM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown with Reverend Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
