Geraldyn M. Smith, age 99, of Unadilla formerly of Johnstown, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at her home with her loving family by her side. Born on August 23, 1922, in Gloversville NY, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Jennie (Edick) Nellis. Geraldyn was employed at General electric in Schenectady for 39 years. She was a graduate of the Johnstown High School and Gloversville Business School. Geraldyn was a longtime member of the Grace Lutheran Church and was in the choir for a little over 65 years. Geraldyn is survived by her daughter, Elaine M. Eaton (Daniel); grandchildren, Olivia Ramsey, Jordan Ramsey; sister, Shirley Tull; nieces and nephews, Brett Stewart (Julie), Jennifer Westberg (Norman), Aaron Tull (Leigh), Marilyn Schafer Karjalaienen, Donald Schafer, Charlotte. In addition to her parents, Geraldyn is predeceased by her husband, Alden J. Smith; sisters, Marion Stewart. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. A celebration of her life and 100th birthday will be in August 2022. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Geraldyn’s memory may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, 1 W Montgomery St, Johnstown, NY 12095. Arrangements have entrusted to the A.G.
