Richard M. Luck

December 26, 1949 - June 12, 2020

Richard M. Luck, 70, of Johnstown, passed away on Friday June 12, 2020 at home. He was born December 26, 1949 in Amsterdam a son of the late Martin and Thelma White Luck. Richard was a 1968 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was employed as a barber for 51 years starting at Reese’s Barber Shop in Hagaman and then coming to The Hair Affair in Johnstown in 1980. Dick loved the city of Johnstown. He volunteered many hours at the Information booth, you will find his name there as one of the people that supported its creation, he was also involved with First Night Activities. He was also a Little league coach for many years in Perth and then in Johnstown, and a Cub Scout leader. He was a supporter of all Johnstown sports attending many of the Football and Basketball games. Dick was a former member and past board member of the Johnstown Area Community Center, and also a member and trustee at the Johnstown Eagles. Dick loved his neighbors and having 40 or so at his home for Christmas parties and summer parties in his backyard. He was a supporter of Neighborhood unity. Survivors include his wife Sara Grabowski Luck whom he married on February 17, 1996; one daughter Lacey Maree Dotson and her husband Michael; sisters Carol Dwyer, Janet Luck, Patricia DeMagistris and Laurie Wilkes and her husband Peter; nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was pre deceased by his sisters Marte J. Swart, Kathy Luck-Ovitt and Bonnie L. Luck. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Arrangements are by the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of ones choice.
