Richard McMillan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Richard McMillan, age 96, of Johnstown, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Gloversville, NY. Born on December 12, 1925, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late George and Iona (Little) McMillan. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed with Lee Dye in Johnstown, NY, for 39 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, relaxing at his camp on Piseco Lake, and spending time with his family. He married the love of his life, Mary H. (Hayner) McMillan on June 28, 1947. They were happily married for 65 years until her passing on August 7, 2012. Richard is survived by his children, Gary McMillan (Sherri), James McMillan (Debbie), Judith Rizio (Frank); grandchildren, Lisa McMillan, Shelly Heroth (Adam), Sherry Passero (Ryan), Toni Rizio (Otto), Shawn McMillan; grandchildren, Kaylee Heroth, Maddox Russell, Seth Fergsuon. In addition to his wife and parents, Richard is predeceased by his son, Richard McMillan and brother, George McMillan. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY, with Reverend Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Johnstown Cemetery.
