Violet M. Rizzio

November 13, 1921 - April 18, 2022

Violeta M. Rizzio, age 100, of Johnstown, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2022, at her home with her loving family by her side. Born on November 13, 1921, in Johnstown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vicenzo and Anna (Galdi) Faliveno. Violet was employed at Garfalls Coat Factory, Wool Shu, and Knox Gelatin. She was of the catholic faith and a member of the Holy Trinity Church. She married her husband, Carmelo “Muzzy” Rizzio on September 18, 1954. They were married for 50 years until his passing on September 18, 2004. Violet is survived by her children, Vincent T. Rizzio, Mary Ann Bush; grandchildren, Hesper, Adrienne, Bianca; great grandchildren, Eden, Landon, Lexi; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Violet is predeceased by her siblings, Thomas Faliveno, Alfred Faliveno, Vincent Faliveno, Elionora Papa, Aida Vroman, and Margurite Guild. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Church, 203 Glebe Street, Johnstown, NY with Father Matthew Wetsel officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s cemetery, Johnstown, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Barter and Donnan Funeral Home, Inc., 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown.
